What is a Qassam?

Qassams are rockets filled with explosives and shrapnel intended to kill Israeli civilians
What is QassamCount?

QassamCount's sole purpose is to let the world know about the number of Qassams and other rockets that hit Israel every day. We update our twitter feed and Facebook status that have been donated every time a Qassam hits Israel.
What do I have to do?

Not much. All you have to do is click on "Donate Status". We will automatically update your status either every time a Qassam hits Israel or once a day, as a digest.
Why is this good?

Most of the world does not understand the reasons for Israel's operation in Gaza. We need to make people understand that Qassams are not fireworks, they destroy, hurt, and kill. We need to bring the Qassam problems on the front-center of people's lives. Facebook statuses have become another source of news, and a way to reach a very wide audience.
What exactly does "Donate Status" mean?

Depending on the type of updates you choose, we will automatically update your Facebook status either every time a rocket lands in Israel or once a day. You will still be able to change your status on your own and you can always de-permission us from accessing your status (by either removing the app or changing your settings).
What sources do you use?

For real time updates, we use news sites ynet, NRG, and Haaretz. For aggregate numbers such as total rockets fired at Israel since 2000, we use data from the IDF spokesperson and a report by the IICC .
