OVER 200 TECHNICAL COOPERATION PROJECTS FOR LATIN AMERICA AND THE CARIBBEAN MANAGED BY ECLAC

More than 200 technical cooperation projects to improve the capacity of member countries to work together for economic and social development in the region are currently being managed by the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC).

Between 2006 and 2007, some US$ 30 million -- the highest amount over the past 10 years -- were allocated to project implementation.

The recognition that these cooperation projects represent for ECLAC is reflected, not only in the demand by Latin American countries for cooperation programmes, but also in the willingness that they, along with donors from outside the region, have shown to provide the necessary financial resources to undertake them.
